Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni settle 'It Ends With Us' lawsuit weeks before trial
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal case was set to go on trial in two weeks
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, weeks ahead of trial, have reached a settlement, bringing the two-year legal war to an end.
The deal has been struck between the actress and Baldoni's Wayfarer Studios as well as his PR team, according to the Daily Mail.
In a joint statement, there have been no apologies.
Instead, both parties admitted the It Ends With Us production "presented challenges" and Lively's "concerns deserved to be heard".
“The end product – the movie ‘It Ends With Us’ – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life," the carefully crafted statement read.
"Raising awareness and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind."
However, in the statement, the parties admitted the production was not easy-going.
"We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognise concerns raised by Ms Lively deserved to be heard."
In a nod to the bitter legal battle, both parties similarly stressed keeping workplaces free of "improprieties and unproductive environments".
In the end, the statement read, "It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including in a respectful environment online.”
Judge gutted Blake Lively's case before settlement
The shock settlement comes after a judge gutted Lively's legal case against Baldoni by tearing 10 out of her 13 claims against him, which include sexual harassment allegations.
Not to mention, the judge had also tossed out the It Ends With Us director/actor counter-lawsuit against Ryan Reynolds and his wife for defamation and extortion last June.
Lively first took Baldoni to court in Dec 2024 for sexual harassment and a hostile workplace environment on the shooting of It Ends With Us.
