The Tempo face the Connecticut Sun at Coca Cola Coliseum in their opening pre-season fixture
The Toronto Tempo will begin their historic journey as Canada’s first Women’s National Basketball Association team with a pre-season game at home.
According to The Canadian Press, the Tempo face the Connecticut Sun at Coca Cola Coliseum in their opening pre-season fixture.
The expansion side recently completed its inaugural draft and will compete in the Eastern Conference this season under head coach Sandy Brondello.
Toronto is set to open its regular season home schedule on May 8 against the Washington Mystics.
The team will continue pre-season action later this week against the Minnesota Lynx before finalising its roster, which will be reduced from 19 players to 12.
Canadian guard Kia Nurse said the squad is ready for the moment. The Tempo’s debut marks a significant milestone for professional women’s basketball in Canada.
