Ariana Grande has left fans in a frenzy after she announced her eighth studio album, Petal, will arrive on July 31.

The announcement follows weeks of cryptic posts, hinting at the major news, which has now sent the internet into meltdown mode.

The hint at Petal first began with a dump on Instagram, which, it appeared, no one. However, it was anything but random.

Eagle-eyed observers spotted a wilting white flower box, interpreting it as a subtle nod to the upcoming album.

This post was followed by Grande's face pasted into a daisy edit, drawing a symbolism close to what is now unveiled: the album's title, Petal.

Then came the polaroid clip, showing a street flooded with water. 

What fans believe to be a real smoking gun came when she tagged Christian Breslauer, the director with whom she collaborated.

He was also the brain behind her videos for her album eternal sunshine.

Petal's announcement by Grande has cranked up her fanbase, who are eagerly waiting for the album's release.
