Naz Reid injury scare raises concerns for Timberwolves during playoff clash with Nuggets
Naz Reid went down in the third quarter after contact with Denver guard Tim Hardaway Jr., appearing to injure his right ankle
Naz Reid suffered an injury scare during the Minnesota Timberwolves’ playoff game against the Denver Nuggets, raising concerns over the team’s fitness.
Reid went down in the third quarter after contact with Denver guard Tim Hardaway Jr., appearing to injure his right ankle.
He remained on the floor before leaving for the locker room.
According to reports, Reid had already contributed 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists before exiting the game.
The incident added to injury worries for Minnesota, with Donte DiVincenzo sidelined with a torn Achilles and Anthony Edwards dealing with a knee issue.
Despite initial fears Reid later returned to the bench and was reintroduced into the game in the fourth quarter by head coach Chris Finch.
The Timberwolves were trailing at the time but Reid’s return provided a boost as the team attempted a late comeback.
Reid had been expected to play a larger role following injuries to key teammates, after a strong performance earlier in the series.
