Fate of Kanye West's latest Europe concert revealed and it's not bad news
Kanye West has been hit with a string of concerts being axed in Europe
Kanye West is banned and cancelled in several cities in Europe, where he was invited to perform. Yet, there is a country where his show is still on.
Portugal.
Organizers insist there are so far no objections to the Grammy winner's concert in the country, scheduled to take place at the Algarve Stadium on August 7.
Torcato Jorge, Raya Culture's CEO, tells Euronews, "It's a music event that's going to happen. It would become an issue if the services identified a national threat to public order, which is not the case."
Additionally, the event's head adds that Portugal's internal intelligence agency, SIS, has not flagged Ye as a threat.
"The SIS did not identify the artist, or in this case the US citizen, as a national threat or a terrorist. There has to be a state internal security report saying that this citizen cannot enter the country."
Jorge, at last, notes, "Each country is free to decide whether or not to allow a citizen to enter, but in the European Union there has been no country that has vetoed their entry into national territory."
The previously canceled West concert was axed at the eleventh hour, so the message from organizers of his event in Portugal raises cautious optimism among the rapper's fanbase.
