Adrian Grenier reveals what went wrong with his 'Devil Wears Prada 2' cameo
Adrian Grenier played the role of Ann Hathaway's onscreen boyfriend in the film
Adrian Grenier might have made a cameo in Devil Wears Prada 2, but failed because there "wasn't” enough time to film it.
The Arsenal actor, who played the role of Ann Hathaway's character, Andrea Sachs' love interest, Nate, in the first installment of the 2006 fashion film, revealed that there were plans for him to make an appearance in the upcoming sequel but things got late.
“I had an idea about sneaking him into a cameo, and in the end, it was just too late in our production schedule to make it happen," he told Entertainment Weekly.
Director David Frankel, who also helmed the first film, revealed that the production of the film concluded less than a month before the Devil Wears Prada 2 release date.
So, there “wasn't time," he shared.
When asked about what part his character Nate, would have played, Adrian refused to share.
"No, I probably shouldn't say," he replied.
This came days after Adrian told PageSix that he was disappointed for not getting a call to be involved in the sequel.
“Obviously, it was a disappointment that I didn’t get the call to be in the sequel. But I also understand there was some backlash with Nate, the character, so that might have something to do with it," he said.
Moreover, it was reported that for the upcoming sequel, Sydney Sweeney also shot a three minute cameo but did not make it to the final cut due to a "creative decision".
Other original stars of the film, including Ann, Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, are all set to appear on the big screen together on May 2.
