Ellen DeGeneres eyes Hollywood comeback after 5-year hiatus
Ellen DeGeneres moved to the U.K. in 2024 after ending her day time talk show 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'
Ellen DeGeneres is ready to make a comeback in Hollywood in a big way.
According to Deadline, the 68-year-old will voice Dory in a new Finding Nemo short film.
Further details about the project have not been released at this time.
Ellen first voiced Dory, a blue tang fish, in 2003's Finding Nemo, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
She reprised the role in 2016’s Finding Dory, which earned over $1 billion globally.
During an interview with the BBC in July 2025, the TV star revealed that she was considering new projects.
"I want to have fun, I want to do something. I do like my chickens, but I'm a little bit bored," she said.
Ellen had moved to the U.K. in 2024 after ending her day time talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
In February, an insider revealed to People magazine that Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi, were ready to put down new roots in the U.S.
"She's not moving back to the U.S. but will continue to split her time between both the U.K. and Montecito, [Calif.]," the source said.
The confidant further told the publication that the pair had been “missing the California weather and horse scene," adding that "Portia loves polo and her horses.”
