King Charles sends message to Prince Harry after 'years of acrimony'
King Charles is seemingly extending an olive branch for Prince Harry
King Charles is sending a special message towards Prince Harry in his Christmas speech.
His Majesty, who spoke to the nation on the festive occasion, added a few words on kindness that indicate he is directing the message towards his youngest son.
Royal editor, Emily Ferguson, writes for Express: “The King’s upbeat message of kindness, compassion and hope saw him twice reference ‘reconciliation.’ Though sources close to the monarch strongly deny that this is in any way a reflection of his desire to repair the rift with his youngest son, dismissing it as simply “just a general phrase”, it is no secret that Charles is keen to rebuild the relationship.”
He added: “In September, father and son met for their first face to face meeting in 18 months. It was a small but significant step on the road to reconciliation.”
“After years of mistrust and acrimony, making peace won’t be easy.
“But let's hope for all involved that the King’s message of compassion, reconciliation and peace applies inwards, as well as outwards,” noted the expert.
Prince Harry left the Royal Family back in 2020 alongside wife Meghan Markle and son, Prince Archie. The couple later accused the Royal Family of showcasing racism towards their son and publicly shared their grievances on television. Harry and Meghan now live in California, where they also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
