King Charles loves to play DJ at Royal Family parties, says expert
King Charles brings his own collection of songs for important Royal events
King Charles is keen on music and picking out playlists, says an expert.
His Majesty, who famously released a list of songs to mark Commonwealth Day in 2025, also plays DJ in Royal events.
Royal author Richard Fitzwilliams reveals that the 76-year-old is “very keen on music” and often “chooses the songs for royal events.”
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me,” he said in a video message when the playlist was released. “It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness and to take us to distant places.”
King Charles’ favourite singers include Kylie Minogue and Diana Ross and Bob Marley.
The monarch is also a fan of arts and paintings.
“Charles has been painting since the early 1980s,” Fitzwilliams says, before adding: “He sponsors up-and-coming painters and supports them through the Royal Drawing School, which he is the founding patron of.”
