Real reason Gabriel is not front and center in 'Emily in Paris' season 5 revealed
Lucas Bravo's Gabriel makes a brief appearance in 'Emily in Paris' season 5
Emily in Paris season 5 creator is explaining the show’s leading man Gabriel’s brief appearances in the new season.
Spoiler alert! In the new season, Gabirel follows Emily (Lily Collins) to Rome and but leaves soon after. He takes up a job on a ship and leaves his Paris restaurant too. In the end of the show, he writes a letter to Emily to make his feelings known and asks her to meet him Greece, leaving fans desperately waiting for the next season.
"We want to go on a journey," director and executive producer Andrew Fleming told Us Weekly. "At no point was Luke ever leaving the show permanently."
Fleming said that the reason for Gabriel’s absence was actor Lucas Bravo’s prior commitments.
"He did have a commitment. He had a movie that he was doing," he noted. "So we worked around that."
"He’s important. He’s part of the DNA of the show," Fleming continued. "When he and Emily are in a scene together, something undefinable happens. They have this chemistry. They do. There’s just something about the two of them that’s very watchable."
"Looking ahead, they’re part of each other’s journey. Who is to say who Emily is going to end up with, but Emily and Gabriel are going to interact with each other. Stuff is going to happen [but] I really can’t say anything about what’s going to happen next season," he added.
Emily in Paris season 5 is streaming on Netflix.
