Nick Reiner has been arrested after the murders of his parents Rob and Michele Reiner.
Nick is being held on $4 million bail, according to Los Angeles Sheriff's Department records.
Rob and Michele were found dead with their throats slit in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14, per TMZ.
According to sources, the couple were found in that state by their daughter Romy, who lives close by. She also apparently called the Los Angeles Fire Department. The LAFD said they arrived at the home at about 3:30 p.m. to provide medical aid and found the couple dead.
The murders are being treated as double homicide by the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division.
In a previous update shared by People magazine, sources claimed that Nick was being questioned by the LAPD.
Nick, 32, has previously spoken openly about his battle with addiction and noted that he’s been homeless in multiple states.
He even collaborated with his celebrated director dad over the autobiographical film, Being Charlie. The film depicted his struggles and his strained relationship with his family.
Cary Elwes portrayed Rob and Nick Robinson portrayed the son. The movie ends with the father apologizing to the son for forcing him into rehab, something the Stand By Me director said he did in real life.
“When Nick would tell us that it wasn’t working for him, we wouldn’t listen," Rob recalled in an interview with the L.A. Times in 2015. "We were desperate and because the people had diplomas on their wall, we listened to them when we should have been listening to our son."
"We were so influenced by these people. They would tell us he’s a liar, that he was trying to manipulate us. And we believed them," added Michele.
