Meghan Markle regains distance from dad Thomas Markle, says insider

Meghan Markle is restraining herself from further contact with dad, says an insider.

The Duchess of Sussex, who was reportedly trying to contact her ailing father due to his leg amputation and later penned him a letter, is regaining her distance.

A source tells Sunday Times: "Meghan Markle has reportedly deleted her father, Thomas Markle's, phone number and has not made any plans to visit him. The 44-year-old has not been on speaking terms with her dad, who is recovering from a leg amputation in a hospital in the Philippines, since 2018."

Express adds: "It is understood that Meghan’s letter expressed her feelings regarding his decision to give several interviews to the media about their relationship, with the hope that the letter would remain private.

"She is said to have refrained from directly contacting him at the hospital, as she fears that a phone call would be overheard, according to the Sunday Times. At the time of writing, it is understood that Meghan has not had a reply to her letter, nor any contact with her dad, since it was delivered."

Prince Harry left the Royal Family back in 2020 alongside wife Meghan Markle and son, Prince Archie. The couple later accused the Royal Family of showcasing racism towards their son and publicly shared their grievances on television. Harry and Meghan now live in California, where they also welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet.
