Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor continued silence over the US committee’s request for him to give evidence about his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein is creating serious issues for monarchy.
According to Radar Online, the former Duke of York’s refusal to participate in the US inquiry has led to growing public suspicion.
However, Andrew has refused to budge as a source close to him said that he “sees no legal obligation to go, and absolutely no personal incentive either.”
"He feels he has already said everything,” they added.
Another insider said, "Crossing the Atlantic is basically stepping into a political minefield. Andrew will never do it."
The former royal aide further said that Andrew is now trapped between two damaging choices: staying quiet makes him look like he’s avoiding scrutiny, but cooperating could leave him embarrassed.
"The accusations of him 'hiding' cut through because they match the public mood,” they said, referring to Congressman Suhas Subramanyam’s comments.
"If he refuses to cooperate, Americans will assume the worst. But if he does cooperate, he risks being humiliated. It's a lose-lose,” second source said.
However, a third source warned the “disgraced former royal that “this isn't going away,” adding, “Whether Andrew talks to Congress or not, the questions will keep coming."
