Martha Stewart does not want 'coffin things' after demise
Martha Stewart talks about her plans to get composted after her death
Martha Stewart is opening up about returning to mother nature after her death.
The 84-year-old lifestyle expert says that she wishes to be composted after she breathes her last.
During a recent appearance on the 50+ & Unfiltered podcast, Stewart said: “When one of my horses dies, we dig a giant hole really deep in one of my fields — we have a pet cemetery — and the horse is wrapped in a clean white linen sheet and very carefully dropped down into this giant, lovely grave.”
Stewart explained. “I want to go there," before adding: “It’s not going to hurt anyone. It’s my property.”
“These coffin things and all that stuff? No way,” she noted.
In a recent appearance on QVC+’s 50+ & Unfiltered podcast, the 84-year-old lifestyle icon shared that her two grandchildren — Jude, 14, and Truman, 13 — have never used a typical grandma nickname for her.
“They’ve called me Martha since the day they were born,” she said. “And all their friends call me Martha. None of them call me Mrs Stewart. I’m not a Mrs Stewart.”
“My daughter calls me Martha,” she noted. “She’s always called me Martha.”
“We’ve always been more like friends,” she said, describing their personalities as opposite. “We’re very different. I’m an extrovert, she’s not.”
