Human-based knowledge about to become obsolete? Nvidia’s CEO makes bold prediction
Jensen Huang drops staggering prediction about human-created knowledge at a podcast
Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang has made a bold prediction about human-based knowledge, highlighting how artificial intelligence will overtake the human mind and consciousness within no time.
While talking to Joe Rogan at the podcast, Huang was being asked about creating a machine that imitates human consciousness.
According to Huang, “It is possible to create a machine that imitates human intelligence and has the ability to understand information, instructions, break the problem down, solve the problems, and perform tasks. I believe that completely.”
“I also believe that we could have a computer that is equipped with vast amounts of knowledge. Some of it true and some of it not true,” he added.
According to Huang, until now humans have been using and propagating the knowledge. Unfortunately, in the near future, human-based knowledge is about to become obsolete.
“In a couple of years, maybe two or three years, 90% of the world's knowledge will likely be generated by AI,” Huang responded.
In response to Rogan’s amazement, Huang justified the possibility of consuming the AI-generated knowledge.
He continued, “It’s because, what difference does it make to me that I am learning from a textbook that was generated by a bunch of people I didn’t know, or… knowledge generated by AI computers that are assimilating all of these and resynthesizing things. To me, I don’t think there’s a whole lot of difference.”
Despite it, it is hard to completely negate the importance of humans in the face of machines. As per 62-year-old CEO observations, humans will be needed to check facts.
“We still have to make sure that the knowledge is based on fundamental first principles and we still have to do all of that just like we do today,” Huang added.
