Princess Kate vows to bring vital family change in new announcement
Future Queen Catherine begins meaningful mission for the betterment of family connections
The future Queen, Catherine, initiated efforts to encourage healthy connections between parents and children amid increasing digital access.
Princess Kate's The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood made an announcement, urging the researchers to submit proposals shedding light on the harms of 'technoference.'
For the unversed, Kate Middleton's team is offering £100,000 to support the much-needed study, which dives deep into the digital tools and devices interfering with and disrupting parent-child connections.
Their mission is to find ways of a healthy 'tech-life' balance and how to reduce its negative impacts.
Christian Guy, the Executive Director of The Royal Foundation Centre for Early said, "Nurturing relationships between babies, young children, and the adults in their lives is critical to the development of the core social and emotional life skills, which we know are the foundations of a healthy, happy and connected society in the future."
He shared that there are several studies about the consequences of extreme use of digital devices on relationships; however, there is a lack of evidence on why people run towards applications, causing distractions.
The new study will help "...how to help people reduce this unwanted interference. The Centre is seeking to address these gaps in research, so we can find the solutions to make a real difference to families' lives."
