Prince William is swapping palace corridors for sandy shores next week as he heads to North Wales solo and for a mission close to his heart.

Kensington Palace has confirmed that the Prince of Wales will touch down in Colwyn Bay on November 25 to spotlight the very real challenges facing young people in coastal communities.

Kicking off the day with a beach walk the most royal kind of “morning commute,” William will join the Marine Conservation Society’s Youth Ocean Network, a dynamic group of 13- to 25 year olds who are turning their passion for the sea into action.

These young coastal champions work with the charity to boost youth engagement in marine conservation across the UK.

The prince will meet volunteers involved in the Hiraeth Yn Y Môr project, which wrapped in March 2025 after bringing together young people from Prestatyn, Rhyl, Kimmel Bay, and Towyn.

The initiative helped build ocean literacy, protect local marine heritage, and promote the wellbeing benefits of connecting with the coast something William is keen to highlight.

During the visit, the Prince of Wales will hear firsthand what the young participants learned through the project, shining a spotlight on the powerful role youth can play in safeguarding Britain’s shorelines.

After wrapping up his morning on the coast, he will head inland to Mochdre for his next stop.

Youth Shedz is an organisation that’s quietly transforming young lives one safe space at a time.

The charity creates supportive, judgment free zones for young people facing some of the toughest challenges imaginable, from school exclusion and bullying to homelessness and traumatic childhood experiences.

Inside these sheds, teenagers and young adults can finally exhale. They receive tailored support to help them untangle the issues weighing them down and, more importantly, to build the resilience they’ll need far beyond their teenage years.
