Blake Lively claims she suffered from $161M damage in smear campaign during It Ends with Us release
Blake Lively once again leaned on her longtime pal Taylor Swift amid her ongoing battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni.
The Gossip Girl actress claimed that she suffered $161 million in damages from a smear campaign during the movie’s release.
According to her filings, Lively lost $56.2 million in acting earnings, $49 million from her beauty brand Blake Brown and $22 million from her beverage line Betty Buzz.
Amid the chaos, fans began speculating that the drama affected the actress’ longtime friendship with the music icon.
Lively and Swift met in 2015 and quickly became inseparable, attending Taylor’s 1989 tour in Australia and her Fourth of July parties.
Over the years, they celebrated holidays together and Swift even became the godmother to Blake and Ryan Reynolds’ four children.
However, their friendship got deeper when A Simple Favor actress directed Taylor’s music video for I Bet You Think About Me, which later earned a CMA nomination.
Moreover, they both were often spotted together at NFL games and even attended the 2024 Super Bowl.
Now, things appeared tense after the actress’ lawsuit against her co-star named the Lover hitmaker in court documents.
Meanwhile, the singer’s team denied any involvement in that matter, saying she only allowed her song my tears ricochet to appear in the film.
When the pop queen released her new album The Life of a Showgirl, fans speculated that one track, Cancelled, hinted at their rumoured fallout.
In the song, Taylor Swift sang about “friends cloaked in Gucci and in scandal,” which many believed was aimed at Blake Lively.
