Firefighters rescue dog stranded on California cliff: Watch
A dog, rescued after it fell over a sea cliff, had been left stranded on a narrow protrusion
Video footage circulating on social media showed a dog hanging on for dear life after it fell 40 feet off an oceanside bluff in California, and firefighters prepared for a lifesaving rescue.
The San Francisco Fire Department shared the video of the rescue, stating that the pup had slipped at Fort Funston while playing with another dog on Tuesday afternoon.
However, the dog appeared to be clinging to a narrow ridge when first responders took measures and returned the animal to its owner.
Following the situation, rescue captain Samuel Menchaca said, " He was happy. He knew he got rescued. He was wagging his tail..”
He further explained that the dog was not close to the area, but first slipped on some vegetation and ultimately fell over the cliff.
The fire department confirmed that a police drone operator was in the area when they spotted the dog and called for instant assistance.
Then a firefighter is moved toward an inevitable terrible outcome, scooped up the pup, scaled back up, and brought the animal to safety.
In this connection, Menchaca persuades people to stay on marketed paths and keep dogs on leashes.
"One of the best ways to not get hurt on these cliffs and our beautiful seaside parts of San Francisco is to stay on the marketed paths," he further added.
