Rita Wilson has offered an insight into what her Now and Then character Chrissy DeWitt would be doing in 2026.

For those unaware, Wilson played the adult version of Chrissy in the 1995 coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, which was about four childhood friends who “gather together to prepare for the birth of Chrissey's baby. They wonder how the girls they were at twelve years could possibly have become the women they are now.”

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, the 69-year-old American actress and singer revealed that Chrissy "would've gone gray by now.”

"I think that she would have been over her whole pink phase,” she noted, adding that Chrissy might also be divorced and have become “a really rocking grandma."

Wilson went on to confess that the movie still holds a special place in her heart and she strongly believes that "no one had made a movie like that, that was this female coming-of-age, a female Stand by Me.”

"I love that that still resonates, and young women still see it. Now, moms are showing it to their daughters, and that was their movie when they were young,” the Runaway Bride star quipped.

Now and Then became special for her because it was "about that female experience, those young girls, that tight friendship and [the fact that] they still stayed friends."

It is pertinent to mention that, in addition to Rita Wilson, Now and Then had an ensemble cast, including Christina Ricci, Demi Moore, Ashleigh Aston Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, Gaby Hoffmann, Thora Birch, Rumer Willis, Walter Sparrow, and more.
