Legendary actor Asrani dies after a life of stardom
Bollywood legend Asrani breathed his last at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of hit movies and diverse, memorable characters.
During his last days, the actor was hospitalised due to age releated health issues, and that is where he spent his last days.
Asrani had a passion for acting, but he also had a passion to learn which he first did under the assistance of Sahitya Kalbhai Thakkar, before he got enrolled at an acting institute.
He went to the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), in Pune, in 1964, and made his debut in Bollywood in 1967.
Asrani's first movie was Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyan, which set him up for several hit movies in his career.
The celebrated actor played one of his most memorable characters in famous film, Sholay, which is still fresh in fans' minds.
Not only was he popular during the '90's but Asrani stunned viewers as recently as 2023, with his role in Dream Girl 2.
The actor's other fan-favourite movies include, Hera Pheri, Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa, Baghban, Chup Chup Ke, Garam Masala, and Bol Bachan.
He is survived by wife Manju Bansal, and son, Naveen Ansari, NDTV reported..
