The "He-Man" of Bollywood Dharmendra Kewal Krishan Deol has been discharged from the Breach Candy Hospital amid health setback.
On Wednesday, November 12, his son Sunny Deol, who is also a prominent Indian actor, shared his father’s health update.
The Gadar: Ek Prem Katha star’s team issued a statement, which read, "Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home."
"We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time," they continued.
In addition to urging the media to refrain from spreading any false news about his father’s health, Sunny, 68, also expressed gratitude to fans for their prayers, love, and good wishes.
"We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you," they added after the 89-year-old legend got discharged from Mumbai’s medical facility, earlier in the day.
For the unversed, Dharmendra reportedly checked in to the hospital on Monday night after experiencing breathing issues. He remained under observation for two days before being discharged.
However during the veteran actor's brief hospital stay, visits from Bollywood A-listers, including Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Ameesha Patel, sparked concerns among fans followed by false reports claiming that the legendary actor passed away
As several Indian national news picked up the unverified claims as confirmed and tributes began pouring in, Dharmendra's wife Hema Malini and their daughter Esha Deol stepped in to clear the air.
Expressing frustration over the fake news, they assured fans that Dharmendra is very much alive, responding well to treatment, and is on the mend.
