Charli XCX takes subtle jab at Taylor Swift during her performance
Charli XCX reignites feud with Taylor Swift after bold SNL moment
Charli XCX seemed to add heat to her rumoured feud with Taylor Swift after her surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live.
The singer appeared during Role Model’s performance of his song “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” where she was introduced as “Sally.”
Wearing a leather mini skirt, sunglasses, and a T-shirt that read “Max’s Kansas City,” Charli instantly caught viewers’ attention.
The shirt’s wording sparked fan speculations that it was a sly nod to Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, many fans believed that the outfit was a playful response to Swift’s alleged diss track Actually Romantic from her song Life of a Showgirl.
One fan wrote on X, “The KC T-shirt … oh tiny chihuahua, you will be dealt with,” quoting Swift’s lyric from the song. Another commented, “OK and how long has Charli been going around and talking s–t about Taylor? She’s too old to be doing this.”
Moreover, not everyone agreed the move was directed at the Lover hitmaker, as some fans pointed out that Role Model also worn a similar T-shirt in earlier SNL promo.
“Charli XCX wearing Tucker’s shirt as his Sally,” one user explained, while another wrote, “This has nothing to do with Taylor and everything to do with their bit.”
The rumoured drama between Taylor and Charli began earlier this month when Life of a Showgirl dropped on October 3, with fans suspecting that some lyrics were aimed at Charli.
