A reported altercation inside a bar in Cleveland, Ohio, escalated into a shooting on Sunday evening, September 7, 2025.

The local police reported that the incident left five injured, with one suspect among them.

The altercation occurred around 6:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 10th Street near a famous waterfront district, The Flats.

As reported by Fox News, the Cleveland Division of Police stated, “Preliminary investigation indicates that an altercation inside the nearby bar escalated outside, leading to the shooting.”

The incident was immediately responded to by Cleveland Fire crews as they were already en route to the neighbourhood due to the reports of overcrowding at the bar.

After a while, the gunfire erupted with fire personnel confirming that they also heard the gunshots.

On arrival, police gave first aid to five victims, one of whom is believed to be a suspect involved in the shooting.

All injured were transported to a local hospital by the Cleveland Division of Emergency Medical Services.

Authorities also confirmed that no further arrests are expected and asserted that the investigation is ongoing.

Responding to the unfortunate incident, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb released a statement condemning the situation: “I’m outraged by the shooting in The Flats this evening. Gun violence has no place in our city — period."

Related to the investigations, he told that he has ordered his team to "immediately shut down and board up the bar involved. We will hold everyone accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
