Isla Fisher makes scathing remarks on marriage after Sacha Baron Cohen divorce

Isla Fisher’s brutal statement on marriage came around a month after the Confessions of a Shopaholic star and The Spy actor finalised their divorce.

The 49-year-old took to Instagram Stories Tuesday, July 15, to give a scathing critique of marriage.

The Now You See Me alum shared a quote on her social media platform that suggested that around ‘80 percent of women are against marriage’.

She posted the quote that read: “For all those men who say, ‘Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?’ Here’s an update for you.”

The statement further read that hinted at the cause of hinderance in women’s attitude towards walking down the aisle.

It shared that the increasing number of women are now ‘realiz[ing] it’s not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage.’

Fisher has remained unapologetic about her bold stance.

For the unversed, Fisher and Cohen dated for around six years before they tied the knot in March 2010.

The pair first met at a party in Sydney around a decade before the dating happened.

The couple welcomed two daughters: Olive (17), Elula (14), and a son Monthomery (10).

Fisher and Cohen took to Instagram to reveal in a joint statement in April 2024 that the two had filed for divorce in 2023.
