Royal family issues delightful message after Queen Camilla solo appearance
Queen Camilla returns to important international event after crucial French State Visit
Buckingham Palace on Wednesday shared a special message as the royal family bid farewell to the French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife following a glittering banquet.
Queen Camilla returned to Wimbledon to watch the men’s quarterfinal after wrapping an important State Visit at Windsor Castle just a day before.
The 77-year-old, accompanied by All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club chair Debbie Jevans, was all smiles at the 10th day of Wimbledon as she met with several longtime staff members.
She also met with seven-time Wimbledon champion, Novak Djokovic, who was up against Flavio Cobolli. The Queen watched the exhilarating match from the Royal Box.
Following the match, the royal family sent congratulations to the winner.
“What a day at @Wimbledon!” with and addition of the badminton emoji and a strawberry emoji.
“Congratulations @djokernole on your Quarter Final success – and thank you to all at The Championships who work to deliver such a fantastic tournament each year.”
Following her appearance, Camilla became the most senior royal to attend Wimbledon so far this year. The Grand Slam tournament is an informal staple on summer calendars as several members of the royal family attend.
It is anticipated that Kate Middleton will also be making an appearance and it is possible that Prince Louis may also make his debut – becoming the youngest royal to attend the sporting event.
