King Charles is expected to make a glamourous alongside some key senior members of the royal family despite receiving heart-breaking news.
The monarch will be joined by Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester on Thursday for the annual award ceremony of the King’s Foundation.
Meanwhile, despite having a packed schedule of her own, the Princess Royal will be present to show support to her brother.
Formerly named The Prince’s Foundation, Charles changed the name of his charity to the King’s Foundation after he had ascended to the throne. This would be the second year the event will be held under its new name.
The official social media page of the charity shared highlights of the preparations underway for the ceremony.
The star-studded event will see appearances from many celebrity ambassadors – including David Beckham.
Later on, the King will be joined by as they host a special reception at Windsor Castle for the deserving winners of the King's Award for Enterprise.
The ceremony is expected to carry on as planned despite an emotional statement released by Buckingham Palace on behalf of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
In Austria, a 21-year-old opened fire with a handgun and a shotgun in his former school before killing himself in a school bathroom. A teacher and nine students were killed – six girls and three boys aged between 14 and 17 – and 11 people were wounded, per the police.
The King and Queen were “deeply shocked and saddened” to learn about the tragic events. They extended their thoughts and prayers to the grieving families for the “terrible loss”.
