Princess Sofia pulls out of National Day events before scheduled appearance
Princess Sofia of Sweden has stepped down from attending the upcoming National Day celebrations, despite initially being confirmed for the event.
The Princess was scheduled to appear alongside Prince Daniel, Princess Madeleine, Christopher O'Neill, and her husband Prince Carl Philip, reported GB News.
However, the now plans have now changed, and Sweden's Royal Court has confirmed that the royal will not attend the June 6th celebrations. No explanation has been provided for her absence.
Royal fans in Sweden may be disappointed, as many were hoping to catch a glimpse of the Princess during the festivities.
Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip recently welcomed their fourth child, Princess Ines, on February 7.
The royal couple shared adorable family photos on Instagram featuring their newborn daughter alongside her three older brothers-Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 7, and Prince Julian, 3.
Due to the arrival of baby Ines, Princess Sofia has missed several key public engagements, including the State Banquet held during Iceland's state visit last month.
It is worth noting that in Sweden, parents are entitled to a total of 148 days of paid parental leave following the birth or adoption of a child.
Princess Sofia was last seen in public cradling baby Princess Ines on the balcony of Stockholm Palace during King Carl Gustaf's 79th birthday in April.
