Ibrahim Ali Khan’s on-screen father, Jugal Hansraj, has broken his silence over the criticism surrounding the debutant.
Jugal, 52, who recently appeared as Dr. Sanjay Mehta in Nadaaniyan, opened up about working with Ibrahim in a recent interview.
In an exclusive conversation with Hindustan Times, the Mohabbatein actor said, “He’s a wonderful guy, very well-mannered. It was an absolute delight to work with him. The affection towards him, the fatherly affection, came naturally.”
Addressing the ongoing criticism Nadaaniyan has faced since its release, Jugal urged audiences to be “kinder”.
The Indian actor also shared that it was a “good experience” working with his co-stars in the teen-romantic comedy.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim, 24 made his debut in Shauna Gautam’s directorial film alongside Khushi Kapoor.
However, the project received mixed reactions, particularly regarding the performances of the lead pair.
Karan Johar’s production synopsis reads, “When a misunderstanding turns her friends against her, lovable rich girl Pia hires Arjun, a career-focused new student, to pretend to be her boyfriend.”
In addition to the lead duo, the film features Suniel Shetty, Mahima Chaudhry, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj in key roles.
For the unversed, the film premiered on March 7 on Netflix.
