Shah Rukh Khan's debut film secret revealed
'Deewana' producer shares experience with Shah Rukh Khan in debut film
Shah Rukh Khan’s debut film producer, Guddu Dhanoa, recently made a shocking revelation about the superstar during the shooting of his first film, Deewana.
The King Khan, who stepped into Bollywood in 1992, was a replacement for Armaan Kohli in Raj Kanwar’s directorial.
In an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, Dhanoa took a trip down memory lane and shared his experience working with Shah Rukh for the first time.
Speaking to the outlet, he said, “Armaan Kohli was in that film; however, he left film, and it was Shekhar Kapur who suggested Shah Rukh Khan’s name to me. We were going to Madras to see the effects of the film Anjali; that’s when he told me to sign SRK, and I was like, ‘Who is Shah Rukh Khan?’”
The Indian filmmaker revealed that he found the Jawan actor “fantastic” for the role the moment he saw him.
Deewana, starring Shah Rukh, 59, Divya Bharti, and Rishi Kapoor, was released on June 25, 1992.
On the professional front, the Pathaan star is gearing up for his next project, King, alongside Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Abhishek Bachchan.
For the unversed, the upcoming film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
