Josh Duhamel on relationship with Fergie 6 years after divorce
Josh Duhamel sheds light on terms with Fergie post-divorce
Josh Duhamel is taking a moment to reflect on his journey post-divorce—and it sounds like he's finding gratitude in the growth.
The actor, 52, opened up in a new interview with Parade published April 10, sharing how his past marriage to Fergie has shaped the man he is today.
“I’m a work in progress,” Duhamel admitted, speaking candidly about life after their 2019 divorce, which followed a two-year separation.
Despite the end of their eight-year marriage, the Transformers star made it clear there's no bad blood.
In fact, the two remain a solid team when it comes to parenting their 11-year-old son, Axl Jack. “Very little conflict,” he said of their co-parenting dynamic—music to any divorced parent’s ears.
The split, as Duhamel has explained before, wasn’t due to drama or scandal. Instead, it came down to lifestyle differences.
On the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast, he previously said, “I don’t think I ever really got comfortable with all of it,” referring to the Hollywood lifestyle.
“I just missed the simplicity of who I really am, you know?”
Red carpets, flashing lights, and all the A-list glitz? Turns out, they weren’t really his scene. “I’m just not a guy who is comfortable going to red carpets. Doing all the Hollywood stuff,” he added.
Fergie, née Stacy Ann Ferguson, officially filed for divorce in 2019. Still, Duhamel looks back on that time with nothing but appreciation.
“I made peace with that part of my life. She and I have a great relationship,” he told Bensinger in 2023. “There wasn’t anything wrong with it. We had a great time. I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests.”
“I’ve got no hard feelings for it. I truly don’t,” he said. “I’m very lucky that she’s a kind human,” he added.
