Sanjay Dutt’s 1999 popular film Vaastav might get a sequel soon.
The superhit gangster movie turned out to be a commercial success at the time and is known to be one of the notable works of Dutt’s professional journey.
However, no official announcement has been made by the makers, but reportedly, the 65-year-old and director Mahesh Manjrekar are in talks for the second entry.
According to the sources, "It's a franchise film, and not a continuation. Mahesh has cracked an idea that is in sync with the world of Vaastav and has discussed the same with Sanjay Dutt, who is all excited and charged up to play Raghu again.”
Reports suggests that the director is currently working on the script of the new film, while the Munna Bhai M.B.B.S actor waits to hear the subject.
The sources further claimed that the upcoming project will be a two-hero film, and the makers are looking for an actor belonging to the younger generation to play the parallel lead.
The work on Vaastav 2 has already been started. The team aims to finalize the star cast by mid-2025 as they hope to release it by year end.
