Ellie Goulding reflects on 'hardest times' after Caspar Jopling split
Ellie Goulding opens up about tough 2024 as she welcomes new beginnings
Ellie Goulding has wrapped up 2024 with an honest reflection, calling it a year of contrasts as she prepares to embrace the New Year with hope and gratitude.
The 38-year-old singer, who parted ways with her husband Caspar Jopling in February, shared a heartfelt montage on social media, offering fans a glimpse into her life over the past year.
"Strange that the hardest times can exist at the same time as feeling the most alive," she mused in the caption.
"God, you’re welcome, 2025. Love to my amazing son, the glorious women in my life, and my fans. Thank you for this and thank you all for your support, without which I wouldn’t be here."
The video showcased a tapestry of moments: Ellie dazzling on the red carpet, breaking a sweat with her trainer, striking a pose in glamorous photoshoots, and enjoying precious downtime with friends and family.
Ellie also recently ended her relationship with 30-year-old surf instructor Armando Perez.
The pair’s romance blossomed during private surfing lessons in Costa Rica, where Ellie was ringing in the New Year.
Despite their eight-year age gap, sparks flew instantly. According to friends, their connection was undeniable, and Ellie found solace in the carefree beach lifestyle Armando offered.
"Ellie loved escaping to the beach with Armando," a source shared with MailOnline.
"It was a refreshing break from everything happening back home after her marriage ended."
But while their chemistry was electric, their differing worlds proved too challenging. "Armando thrives on the simplicity of his quiet life in the water and away from the public eye," the insider explained.
