Hush-money trial hit Melania, Barron 'very hard' , Donald Trump says
"I think in many ways it's tougher on my family than it is on me," says the former president
As the Trump family goes through public scrutiny, former president Donald Trump has stated that his wife, former first lady Melania Trump, has found his historic trial and criminal conviction to be "very hard."
During the trial, Daniels made accusations about their alleged 2006 sexual encounter, which the Republican candidate has refuted, BBC reported.
Upon being questioned about his wife's reaction to the trial and conviction, Trump replied, "She is fine, but I think it's really hard for her. She has to read all this crap."
When asked how his family was feeling, he responded, "I think in many ways it's tougher on my family than it is on me."
A New York jury last week convicted Trump of fabricating financial documents in order to hide the hush-money payments he made to adult star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.
He was found guilty, making history as the first US president to face criminal charges.
He has said on several occasions that the trial was politically driven and manipulated.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump claimed that winning the US election in November would be his "revenge."
He intends to file an appeal against the verdicts, and his sentencing is set for July 11.
