Cristiano Ronaldo’s another record gets broken by two Manchester United players after 20 years.
Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo are now the first players since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2004 to gain an FA Cup final win for Manchester United, according to Daily Mail.
Putting United 2-0 up at half time, with the Red Devils holding on to win 2-1, both of the Manchester United teenagers scored in the first half of the final, which was held at Wembley on Saturday.
With the likes of Lisandro Martinez returning to the starting line-up for playing in defence alongside the departing Raphael Varane, United held their own and appeared much improved.
Following a mix-up from City pair Josko Gvardiol and Stefan Oretga, Garnacho opened the scoring after half an hour. This happened with the defender heading past his own goalkeeper to give the forward a tap in.
Following good play from players like Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Mainoo, Mainoo added a second to put daylight between the two teams nine minutes later and left Wembley in shock.
With the first goal of the game, Garnacho, 19, broke the record and became the first teenager to score in the final since Ronaldo did the same in 2004.
Ronaldo was also 19 at the time. At the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, he netted against Millwall for United as the team won 3-0, with a Ruud van Nistelrooy brace ensuring victory.
