UK PM is way ahead of Queen Elizabeth's son
Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty’s money has grown by more than £120million over the past year and the couple has surpassed King Charles’s wealth.
As their wealth jumped from £529million last year to £651million, both Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty have beaten King Charles’s wealth, according to the Mirror.
The couple’s money is largely driven by Murty’s stake in Infosys, which is an Indian IT company her father founded. The family is the richest residents of No.10 in history.
By £108.8million to nearly £590million, Infosys shares have increased in value over the last year.
King Charles's wealth grew for the year, rising to £610million from £600million, showed the Sunday Times Rich List 2024, which lists the richest people in Britain.
As a new entry, ranking 337th, Tony Blair’s eldest son Euan Blair also featured on the list.
The list observed that the number of British billionaires tumbled again, continuing a theme seen in 2023. Driven by some seeing their private wealth contract amid high borrowing rates and others leaving the country, the number of billionaires reached a peak of 177 in 2022, before dropping to 171 and falling again to 165 this year.
