WhatsApp reveals that a new feature enabling users to hide Community Chats is in the works, after the addition of an event planner to Communities.
The WhatsApp Android beta version v2.24.10.13 was found to include the most recent hide community chat feature.
The most recent report claims that users will have more privacy and control over group discussions with the hidden community chat function.
WABetaInfo posted about Meta's WhatsApp experimenting with a new feature to hide community group discussions. WhatsApp is putting a special icon next to the group name for that purpose.
Members of a community group can readily determine whether the group is hidden by looking at this dedicated icon, which allows them to hide some talks and return to them at a later time.
For ease of identification, WhatsApp will further display the community to which the secret group conversation belongs.
A nice approach to differentiate between visible and concealed group chats would be provided by the dedicated symbol.
Additionally, it provides a controlled environment and an extra layer of privacy, enabling a user to participate in a community without disclosing their activities to other members.
This is because other members cannot see which groups are hidden unless they have a group invite link.
