A single ticket holder from New Jersey has won the Mega Millions jackpot amounting to $1.13 billion, on Tuesday night, Fox Business reported.
The Mega Million winning numbers were, 7, 11, 22, 29, 38 and Mega Ball 4.
This is the fifth largest win in the game's history.
The winner whose name has not been revealed yet, has now the option of getting the prize money in annual payments or cashing out a lump sum amount of $537.5 million.
In addition to the $1.13 billion jackpot, 12 people, belonging from California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio and two each from Florida, Georgia and New York, managed to match all five white balls to win $1 million each.
Furthermore, another player from New York won $3 million, as he managed to match all five white balls along with the Megaplier.
In November 2022, a single ticket holder from California won a Powerball jackpot of $2.04 billion.
According to Mega Millions, there are nine ways to win the prize, ranging from the ultimate jackpot to a $2 win.
Players have the option to pick any six numbers from two separate pools of numbers ranging from 1 to 70 — five for the white ball and one for the gold Mega Ball.
If you manage to match your numbers to the winning numbers, you win the jackpot.
