PSL 9: Mohammad Amir claims Multan DC 'mistreated' his family

Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir sought action against the deputy commissioner (DC) of Multan on Tuesday, saying that they mistreated his family during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match. 

"Shocked by the unacceptable behaviour of the Deputy Commissioner of Multan, who reportedly mistreated my family, arrogantly claiming ownership of the ground & unjustly ejecting them during a match," wrote Amir on X, formerly Twitter.

"This abuse of power is intolerable! Urging authorities for immediate action," said the pacer, calling on newly-elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take action against the administrative officer.

Pakistan is currently conducting the PSL's ninth edition. The initial matches of the current season are being held in Lahore and Multan concurrently.

Amir was picked by Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 9 after being released by Karachi Kings. He was the part of Kings since the first season, which was in 2016.

He was the Gladiators' second pick in the Platinum round.

Amir retired from international cricket in December 2020. He is actively playing leagues across the world and has no plans to return to international cricket as disclosed by former team director Muhammad Hafeez who personally spoke to the left-arm pacer, encouraging him to engage in domestic cricket if he has the desire to represent Pakistan again.

During a media interaction last year, Amir reiterated his retirement, stating his belief that it was time for the younger generation to come forward.
