Alia Bhatt’s mom defends Suhana Khan, Ananya Pandey over nepotism debate

Alia Bhatt’s mother and veteran actress Soni Razdan recently reacted to the nepotism debate on social media, showering praise on Suhana Khan and Ananya Pandey. 

Taking to Instagram, the senior actress engaged with her fans under the comments section of a post which read, "The people who moan on and on social media about nepotism are people whose parents had careers they would want to stay a million miles away from."

In response, Soni wrote, "Does a child have first right of refusal to a parent’s profession? Dentists children never seem to get any flack for becoming dentists … 

She continued, "also I totally get the feeling. I was an outsider too trying to break in. Wisest words I ever heard were - the world doesn’t owe you a living. If you can’t deal with what it entails find another profession."

One fan asked if the actress really believed that "nepo kids" Suhana Khan, Ananya Pandey, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor are talented?  

To which, the Raazi actress expressed her admiration for the star kids of the Indian film industry, saying, "I think they are all talented people."

Soni also believed that the star kids have a lot of expectations riding on them. She added that the pressure to prove themselves on the big screens is also "terrifying."

For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana recently made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's directorial The Archies. 

On the other hand, Ananya Pandey made her first big screen appearance with Karan Johar's rom-com Student of the Year 2.
