Rescue 1122 service extended to Mansehra

MANSEHRA: The Rescue 1122 on has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the administration of the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital (KATH) to initiate service in Mansehra.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at office of Assistant Commissioner Naveed Ahmad. Medical Superintendent, KATH, Dr Mohammad Javed, and Manager Operation 1122, Hazara Division, Nisar Ahmad, signed the documents on behalf of respective departments.

The Mansehra district administration would oversee the overall Rescue 1122 operations.According to the agreement, the KATH administration would provide building and space for parking lot and others usages to Rescue 1122 without any rent until the latter acquire its own land. Currently, there is no such emergency response unit working in the district, which could act in earthquake, fire, flash floods, health emergency and buildings collapse incidents.

Mansehra is considered as more vulnerable to natural calamities in Hazara Division and even in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as over 30,000 people died there in the October 8, 2005 earthquake. The Rescue 1122 started its operation in Abbottabad last month.
