Violating justice

Human rights are not privileges. It is the constitutional duty of every state to provide these basic rights and justice to its people and citizens. As Nelson Mandela said: “Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity; it is an act of justice...” A just society protects human rights and dignity. How can we evaluate the justness of our society? Surely, it should be about how we care for the more vulnerable, those with the least economic and social power. Any neglect of the vulnerable is a violation of justice.

This is what our elected representatives have been doing for decades. This is criminal negligence, a violation of their oath and above all a betrayal of the masses who voted them to power. The main cause of widespread poverty in our country is the misuse of authority and resources. It requires a bold and sincere leadership to rise to the challenge and bring people out of the poverty net.
