Unambiguous state

This refers to the letters, ‘The art of diplomacy’ (February 17) by Muhammad Wajid Munir and ‘Confusion’ (February 17) by Dr Najeeb A Khan. Both writers have rightly remarked that a country’s economic interests reign supreme in today’s global world. The world has understood this phenomenon but our government seems to be stuck in a state of confusion in matters of politics and economy.

The government should take concrete steps in the realms of diplomacy and economic affairs, rather than increasing the tax burden on the middle class. It should clearly define its line of action on issues concerning the economic wellbeing of the country. Likewise, there should be no ambiguity with regard to the execution of different stages of the CPEC. The government is advised to make every effort at saving this import project from the Western, sub-state, inter-state and intra-state interventions. For this we need clear foreign policy guidelines so that our missions abroad can project Operation Zarb-e-Azb and the benefits of the CPEC in every international forum.
