SHARJAH: Quetta Gladiators are still going on top with another victory in the 14th Twenty20 match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) here at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Chasing an easy target of 127, they completed the five-wicket win against Karachi Kings with seven balls to spare.
Ahmed Shehzad was the top scorer with 41 from 27 balls, hitting seven fours.
Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed remained not out on 29 while Kevin Pietersen made 26.
For Karachi Kings, young leg-spinner Usama Mir claimed two wickets for 27 runs.
Earlier, Karachi Kings skipper Shoaib Malik won the toss and elected to bat first but his players could not resist against deadly bowling by right-arm medium pacer Grant Elliot. Only four batsmen entered into the double figures.
Shoaib himself was the top scorer with 45, scored off 38 balls with three fours and two sixes. He was followed by James Vince (23), Ravi Bopara (14) and Shakib Al Hasan (10).
Their most in-form batsman and the allround star of the previous match Bopara also failed to make any significant contribution.
Elliot finished his bowling quota of four runs capturing four wickets for just 15 runs.
