ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani cricket team and the cricket board came under heavy criticism by legislators on Tuesday, over team performance and chief selector’s casino fiasco.
The chairman of the standing committee on Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, Kamil Ali Agha came down hard on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and said that gamblers can be found in every corner of the cricket board.
Another member of the standing committee likened the situation to terrorism and said the cricket team should be tried by a military court.
Senator’s part of the Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage committee could not control their anger. PPP Senator, Abdul Qayoom Soomro said, the entire cricket board has become a gambling den. He added that if politicians can be tried then sportsmen should also be liable to trial by military court.
Senator Kamil Ali Agha expressed his disappointment at the teams continued dismal performance and said the chances of Pakistan reaching the final seem impossible.
