Unlike government schools, the privately-owned educational institutions in the federal capital will remain closed on November 9 as a holiday on account of the birth anniversary of the national poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The Ministry of Interior has already announced in a notification, “November 9, (Monday) will be a working day. All offices and educational institutes would remain open as per routine.”
However, private schools and colleges functioning in Islamabad have formally informed students that their campuses will remain closed on Iqbal Day and will resume classes next day (Tuesday).
In line with the Interior Ministry’s notification, the government schools overseen by the Federal Directorate of Education will remain open on November 9, however.
