Farmers reject Kissan Package

MULTAN: The Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) Friday rejected the Prime Minister’s farmers’ package and demanded Rs 50,000 per acre markup free agriculture loan for crop sowing. Addressing a farmer gathering at Lashkarpur locality, KBP central vice-president Arslan Khan Khakwani said the PM package was causing frustration in farmers. He said the youth in rural areas were frustrated and moving to urban areas. He urged the government to launch reasonable financial incentives on agriculture produce andmake efforts for the prosperity of peasants. Khakwani termed the PM’s agriculture package of Rs 50,000 a formof humiliation, saying that the package has hurt peasants’ ego.Khakwani said the PML-N, the PPP and the PTI were not friends of farmers. He accused the leadership of the political parties of exploiting farmers.
