11 booked for accusing woman of bigamy

OKARA: The Cantonment police have registered a case against 11 people for accusing a woman of bigamy through a fake nikkahnama.

 

Fauzia Sarwar, a resident of 51/3R village, was married to Shujaat Ali Bajwa with the permission of her family on November 24, 2011. Later, 11 members of her family, including Ghulam Sarwar Bajwa and Imran Jatt, prepared a fake nikkahnama and got a case of bigamy registered against Fauzia. The nikkahnama was proved bogus in court.

 

11 BOOKED FOR CUTTING CROP: The Gogera police have registered a case against 11 people for cutting the crop of their rivals at gunpoint.

 

Nawab Bibi, daughter of Jalal Kharal of Thatha Ghulam Ka, had cultivated an acre of sugarcane. On the day of the incident, her rivals Mushtaq Ahmed, Muhammad Sher, Ghulam Shabbir, Abdul Nazir, Siddique, Nasir, Nuqra and Fakhar Hayat Kharal reached the field, cut the crop at gunpoint and fled after loading it on tractor-trolleys. They also threatened the victim family with dire consequences.

 

WOMAN RAPED: A woman was raped here.

 

The daughter of Ahmad Ali Theem of Ratta Khana, Depalpur was sleeping with her children at home when Nazir Ahmad and his two accomplices reached there, while Nazir raped her. On hue and cry of the children, locals gathered there and the culprits escaped. The Depalpur City police have registered a case against the accused.

 

OBITUARY: Mian Mushtaq Ahmad Kamyana, a senior member of the District Bar Association, died after a brief illness here. The District Bar Association office-bearers have expressed their grief over his demise.
