Rootsian shines in Model United Nations

The twelve-year-old head delegate Haneen Azhar, an IG2 student of Roots Ivy, DHA-I, at the NUST International Model United Nations (NIMUN) 2016, encompassing more than 800 delegates from 10 different countries, was awarded the best delegate in the simulation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Six delegates from Roots Public Speaking Society at Roots Ivy of O-levels competed with university level students at NIMUN’16. Haneen Azhar is the youngest delegate ever to win this award at NIMUN’16. Co-head Shehryar Muhammad Naeem won the Outstanding Diplomacy Award in the toughest committee United Nations Security Council, while Moeed Raza received the Honorary Mention and the best Position Paper award in SPECPOL.
For three days, the youngest duo in the Islamabad-Rawalpindi debating circuit, aged 12 and 14 respectively put up their arguments against AMC, PMA and BMI with extensive debating experiences and expertise without being intimidated by the international delegates from 10 different countries who were as old as 25 years.
CEO of Roots Ivy Khadija Mushtaq has been promoting global leadership, diplomacy, character development, confidence, exposure and holistic personality development in the youth of Pakistan. Each student of Roots Public Speaking Society at Roots Ivy/ DHA-1 has strong debating skills and an extensive knowledge on global current affairs, international relations, diplomacy, foreign policy and the United Nations schemas to participate in any MUN. Engaging students in enlightened extracurricular activities instills in them the spirit of peaceful conflict resolution making them high-achievers, global leaders and model citizens.
