Police officer gunned down by son

A police officer was gunned down by his young son at their house in Korangi on Tuesday. According to police, the incident took place in the Mehran Town area where a young man shot and killed his father. The deceased police officer was identified as inspector Deedar Abbasi who was posted at the investigation wing of the Boat Basin police station.

He was shot twice and died shortly after the incident. Police said the victim’s son, Kamran Abbasi, was responsible for the incident and he used his father’s official pistol to kill him. The policeman was the brother of Memon Goth SHO Khalid Abbasi. Quoting initial investigations, police said the victim had punished the suspect on Monday night over some issue, upon which the suspect killed his father early in the morning.

The suspect fled after committing the crime. Police have registered a case and are looking for the fleeing suspect.

Two die in road crashes

Two people were killed and as many others injured in separate incidents. A man died while his wife was critically injured after their motorcycle was hit by a speedy trailer on the Super Highway. The casualties were taken to a nearby hospital where the deceased was identified as 40-year-old Gulshad Ali Shah and his wife as Aliya.

In a similar incident, a man was killed on the Super Highway when a speedy vehicle knocked him down while he was crossing the road. The body was shifted to a morgue for identification.

Separately, 27-year-old police constable Sajid was wounded in a traffic accident on Sharea Faisal. The Ferozabad police said he was taken to a nearby private hospital for medical treatment.
